FAQ
Where are Act of Caring´s products manufactured?
The products are made in Sweden by our local partner and manufacturer who has a long experience in of making natural care products.
What material are you bottles made of?
We only use PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) PET plastic bottles. They may vary in colour as we use 100% PCR depending on the source.
Our bottles are great for refilling so please check our assortment of refills packs/sizes. Refilling is the best alternative to reduce waste and lower
environmental impact. Please always consider recycling your used containers and keep plastic away from our oceans.
Are Act of Caring´s products organic and natural?
The base of our products is always of natural origin and we strive to use organic ingredients whenever possible. However, in some cases we may need to use
smaller amounts of nature identical ingredients, such as preservatives that occur in natural plants such as lingonberry, but is not possible to produce large scale.
Are Act of Caring´s products vegan?
Yes, all our products are vegan. Our waxes do not contain bee wax.
Are Act of Caring products tested on animals?
No, we would never use animal testing for neither our ingredients nor our products. As a matter of fact this is forbidden in the EU so it is not an option for any caring brand within EU.
How do I store Act of Caring products?
Store in normal temperature (18°C) and keep away from direct sunlight in order for the products to stay fresh.
What is the expiry date on your products?
All of our products have a shelf life of 3 years while unopened. For our personal care products, such as hand sanitizer, soap and hand cream;
after your product is opened, we recommend using it within 6-12 months, as indicated by the “period after opening” symbol on the label, to ensure
optimal freshness.
Do you have refills of your products?
Yes, we sell refills on most of our products. Please refill your product with care. Do not clean your bottle as it may leave water residues behind that not necessary mix well with Act of Caring’s formula. Use dry clean hands and try not to get air inside. Make sure to secure the cap/head/sprayer on the bottles firmly after refilling.
Why are there warning labels on some of the products?
The regulations for cleaning products in the EU requires specific labels. Products with high amount of alcohol must have a warning sign for example.
Sometimes my product look or smell different from previous bottles I’ve purchased - why?
We use natural ingredients and essential oils, which can exhibit deviations from harvest to harvest, different batches of the same product can occasionally vary in color, texture and fragrance. Storage conditions, including temperature and light exposure, can also have an effect. Please note this does not impact the efficacy of your product.
Do your products contain parabens, silicones or sulphates?
No. We would never use these kinds of ingredients in our products.
You may have noticed this is not specified on our labels. There is a reason for that. Within the EU it is forbidden by EU-law to mention what a product “does not” include or what a product is “free from”.
All our ingredient lists are presented on actofcaring.com shop under “Ingredients”.
Why is there stated “perfume” in your ingredient list? Is it a synthetic perfume?
Due to changes in EU legislation all products containing any kind of fragrance, natural essential oils or synthetic, must have the word “Perfume” stated in the ingredient list. For home care products it should be stated as “Perfume”. To clarify what we use we added a bracket to our ingredient list explaining if it is a mix of essential oils or a natural fragrance.
How do Act of Caring test its products?
During development of new products, Act of Caring has a rigorous testing process to evaluate safety, function and stability. These tests are repeated several times to validate. Our products are always tested on the founders and team of Act of Caring and never on animals.
Before any product is released to the public, the formulation must pass a Product Safety Assessment and Toxicological review, conducted by a qualified independent agency in Sweden.
