Sven‑Harry’s Konstmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden, opened in 2011. Designed by Gert Wingårdh and Anna Söderberg, the building brings together an art gallery, the founder’s collection, a restaurant, apartments and commercial spaces. ​​In its meeting room the designers selected 18 chairs by Gärsnäs — the Craft Chair, designed by Åke Axelsson in 2010. The chair features ash wood and Tärnsjö leather upholstery and is built with durability and sustainability in mind.​

After some 14 years of continuous use and exposure to sunlight and wear, the chairs developed patina but also signs of wear and stains. ​​Rather than replacing them, Sven-Harry’s asked Gärsnäs to explore renovation. Gärsnäs engaged Act of Caring to assist with the revitalisation. The result is a superb refurbishment, giving the chairs a new lease on life.​
